As a Storyfest Marketing and Communications Officer, you will play a central role in shaping how our story is told. From digital content and campaigns to community engagement and brand storytelling, this role is perfect for a creative communicator who thrives in a dynamic environment. This is a fixed period appointment commencing January 2026 and concluding December 2026, with potential for extension. Responsibilities Develop and implement marketing activities that promote Storyfest programs, literacy initiatives, events, and fundraising campaigns. Create compelling written content, including newsletters, social media posts, donor communications, blog articles and impact stories. Design digital and print collateral that reflects Storyfest’s creative and community-focused brand. Manage Storyfest’s social media platforms, build audience engagement, and track content performance. Maintain and update website content, including news stories, event information, and educational resources. Support community engagement activities and organisational storytelling that highlights our impact. Assist with measuring audience growth, engagement insights, and campaign effectiveness. About Us Storyfest is a charity organisation based on the Gold Coast that develops and delivers children’s literacy programmes primarily for children. Storyfest hosts Australia’s leading children’s literature and storytelling festival on the Gold Coast, inspiring thousands of young people each year to discover the joy of reading and creativity. We host engaging events, workshops, and experiences across multiple regions, celebrating local communities and Australian stories. Ideal Candidate Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience ideally within the not-for-profit, education, or arts sectors. Demonstrated experience in marketing, digital communications, or content creation. Strong copywriting and editing skills with the ability to tailor tone for different audiences. Graphic design capability (Adobe Creative Suite or similar). Solid organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects. Experience managing social media content and scheduling tools. Knowledge of website CMS platforms (Craft CMS, WordPress) and basic SEO desirable. Current Working with Children Blue Card. Passion for literacy, creativity, and community impact.
