Bringing together the government and private sector, AIEF provides scholarship funding for Indigenous students to complete Year 12 or tertiary studies, with career support and mentoring to help them make a successful transition to employment. Backed by some of Australia’s most influential business, philanthropic, media and community leaders, AIEF has grown from one scholarship student in 2008 to now supporting over 1,500 young Indigenous people from over 400 communities in every state and territory of Australia. AIEF has consistently achieved annual retention, Year 12 completion, and career transition rates above 90% since funding its first scholarship in 2008. The Role Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, the Fundraising Coordinator (Major Gifts) is responsible for securing philanthropic support from individuals by building, stewarding and managing a portfolio of mid‑level to major gift donors and prospects. You will play a key role in delivering the Advancement Strategy and contributing to organisational fundraising targets. Key Responsibilities Build and steward a portfolio of mid‑level to major gift prospects, identifying and qualifying prospective donors through strategic research and relationship‑building activities; Participate in donor cultivation and solicitation processes and contribute to annual major gift revenue targets through strategic donor engagement and portfolio management; Support the Advancement Team in delivering the Advancement Strategy by coordinating and maintaining donor relationships; Coordinate policies and procedures, the onboarding and training of new team members and annual reporting processes; Identify, research and cultivate new prospects through strategic relationship‑building activities; Participate in donor cultivation and solicitation, contributing to annual major gift revenue targets; Develop and implement tailored cultivation and stewardship plans, including face‑to‑face meetings and presentations; Coordinate and maintain donor relationships, ensuring timely, meaningful communication and high‑quality stewardship; Track and manage donor engagement activity in AIEF’s CRM system and support delivery of the Advancement Strategy; Support onboarding and training of new team members, and coordination of policies, procedures and annual reporting processes; Collaborate with colleagues across AIEF to ensure a cohesive and consistent experience for donors and supporters. About You Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or equivalent, relevant work experience; Demonstrated experience building effective and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders; Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines and maintain attention to detail; Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely; Ability to collaborate effectively, as well as work proactively and independently; Proficiency with CRM systems and donor database management; Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in, syndicated giving programs or collaborative funding models; Experience working within Indigenous education is highly desirable.
