The Role Working within Centrecare’s Therapeutic Framework, we are seeking an experienced Counsellor, to provide high-quality intake, screening, assessment, counselling, and support to victims of domestic and family violence. Duties will include conducting risk assessments, safety planning, and facilitating individual counselling sessions. Availability must be to work one evening per week until 8 pm at the Midland branch. Provide counselling and support to individuals affected by domestic and family violence. Utilise Centrecare’s Therapeutic Framework to maintain consistency in program design and service delivery. Conduct risk assessments, safety planning, and risk management in line with best practice standards. Actively support clients to engage and participate in counselling sessions and/or external programs. Manage counselling caseload, conduct client assessments, and develop case plans based on clients' needs. Maintain documentation, including case notes, screenings, assessments, and support plan. Selection Criteria Recognised tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counselling, or related disciplines. Experience in counselling individuals, couples, and families. Experience working with individuals who have experienced family and domestic violence. Experience in case management and coordination of client services. Knowledge and experience in intake, assessment, and case management. Strong clinical skills and knowledge. National Police Certificate. Availability to work one evening per week until 8pm. Ability to work effectively within a team. Willingness to work one evening a week until 8 pm if required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
