Financial Controller - Iconic Global Media and Entertainment Business The Company : With headquarters in the USA, this role will be based out of an ideally positioned office in a desirable part of Melbourne’s CBD. Our client is an iconic and global business in the media and entertainment sector. A subsidiary of one of the world’s most recognisable and well known brands, they are currently enjoying strong business performance and growth. Responsibilities Lead preparation of statutory and management financial reports in accordance with local framework, and company policies. Maintain general ledgers, reconciliations, and monthly close processes for both entities. Ensure compliance with all local accounting standards, taxation obligations, and corporate governance requirements across both jurisdictions. Manage external audits and statutory filings, liaising with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities. Drive finance process optimisation, automation, and system enhancements to improve accuracy, control, and efficiency. Support the implementation and maintenance of ERP systems, ensuring alignment with global reporting frameworks. Identify and deliver opportunities to streamline cross-border workflows and financial processes. Collaborate with global finance, FP&A, and operations teams to provide analysis and insights supporting regional performance and decision-making. Provide guidance on cross-border transactions, intercompany accounting, and transfer pricing. Lead and mentor regional finance staff and shared service resources supporting the ANZ and India entities. Represent Finance in key cross-functional projects and initiatives across the APAC region. The Successful Candidate CA /CPA qualified and with a relevant business degree, you will be a well credentialed finance leader with previous team management experience. You will have strong technical accounting skills, ideally developed by commencing your career in a Big 4 or mid tier accounting firm. You may be currently working in a Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller position. Ideally you will have previous experience managing multi-entity or multi-country finance operations (preferably across APAC). You will have strong technical knowledge of AASB & IFRS. You will have demonstrated success in statutory reporting, audit management, and regulatory compliance. Naturally, you will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across diverse geographies and time zones. Systems savvy, previous experience with large ERP systems such as Netsuite would be ideal.
