About the Role Fyfe is a multi-disciplinary consultancy providing engineering, environmental, planning, and surveying services across Australia. To support our success we seek a Senior IT Helpdesk Technician to join our Melbourne office. As a Senior IT Helpdesk Technician, you will give technical support to end‑users via phone, email or in‑person; diagnose and resolve issues on desktops, laptops, printers and peripherals; set up and configure new workstations and mobile devices; install, upgrade and maintain software and operating systems; monitor the ticketing system; prioritize user requests; and provide on‑site support when required. Responsibilities Provide technical support to employees, troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic network issues via phone, e‑mail or in‑person. Install, configure, and maintain company IT systems, including computers, printers, and communication tools. Support the M365 suite, including Entra, Exchange, SharePoint and Teams. Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings in various systems. Document technical issues and resolutions in the IT ticketing system. Assist in software updates, patches, and system maintenance. Provide training and guidance to staff on IT best practices and troubleshooting steps. Assist with new IT initiatives from design to delivery, including change management. Requirements 3+ years’ experience as an IT Helpdesk Technician or technical support role. Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills. Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra. Customer‑focused attitude with a dedication to delivering exceptional service. Tertiary IT qualifications or industry certifications (essential). Very strong interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal.
