Wavell State High School is seeking an innovative, future-focused leader to join our team as Head of Department, focusing on Vocational Pathways within the school. This role is central to ensuring that every Wavell student is empowered, equipped, and enabled to pursue a purposeful pathway from Year 7 through to Year 12 and beyond. This position is being offered from January 2026, unless otherwise determined. About The Role The Vocational Education Coordinator will play a pivotal role in managing the operational requirements of the school's Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and ensuring compliance with the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality Framework. This role focuses on supporting students in Years 10–12 to successfully transition into further education, training, or sustainable employment through case management and career pathway coordination. Key Responsibilities Managing the RTO structure and ensuring compliance with VET policies and standards. Coordinating vocational education and career pathways for senior students. Supporting students in school‑based apprenticeships and traineeships, liaising with stakeholders. Developing partnerships with businesses, training providers, and parents to enhance student outcomes. Delivering professional development for staff involved in vocational education programs. About You This role would suit a passionate and experienced educator with a strong commitment to student success and a proven ability to lead vocational education initiatives.
