Vocational Education and Training and Workplace Learning Support Officer Department of Education WA – Forrestfield WA We are seeking to establish a pool of Vocational Education and Training and Workplace Learning Support Officers for permanent and fixed‑term, full‑time and part‑time vacancies that may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. Darling Range Sports College is a highly successful comprehensive Independent Public School with a student population of around 1,100 and over 120 teaching and support staff. It opened in 1975 as Forrestfield Senior High School and later transitioned to a sports college in 2008, becoming the only sports college in Western Australia. We provide specialist sporting programs in AFL/AFLW, athletics, baseball, basketball, netball, rugby league, soccer and swimming. The Role The successful applicant will assist in coordinating the operations of Vocational programs and Workplace Learning, developing and introducing systems and strategies that provide a responsive and effective support service for the College’s Vocational and Workplace Learning programs. Responsibilities include: Selection and induction of students into the Vocational and Workplace Learning programs, and induction and training of workplace supervisors. Identifying pathways for employment or activities other than employment according to students’ skills and abilities. Source Vocational Education and Training (VET) programmes and tailored individual programmes in conjunction with the VET Coordinator. Locate suitable industry placements/activity providers, conduct site checks and meetings with prospective employers and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). Visit and monitor students on work placements in alignment with the Department’s Workplace Learning for Public Schools procedures, checking student logbooks for satisfactory completion and working hours. Liaise with key stakeholders: school personnel, RTOs, industry, parents and students on attendance/behavioural issues.
