Vocational Education and Training - Workplace Support Officer This is a 3‑month fixed‑term, full‑time position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency. Aveley Secondary College (SC) opened in 2018 and is a large secondary school catering for Years 7 to 12 in Perth’s Swan Valley. The College is recognised as a school of choice with high expectations and standards, a progressive approach and a commitment to excellence. Teaching and learning at the College is a focus (with Explicit Direct Instruction the signature pedagogy) supported by a rigorous behaviour curriculum and systems to support conditions for learning in the classroom. Aveley SC’s collaborative approach to pedagogy has been recognised as best practice through the Grattan Institute and teaching staff have been filmed by the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) as examples of best practice. A central feature of the college is strong teams with an extensive repertoire of curriculum resources. As alumni of the Fogarty EDvance program, the school has visitors from across the state and country visiting our classrooms to see our teachers in action. Most recently the school is in the finals of the 2025 WA Education Awards. Our teachers are our best asset. The Role The successful applicant will ideally have previous experience and knowledge of Vocational Educational Programs and Workplace Learning in schools and will be able to carry out the responsibilities listed in the Job Description Form (JDF). You will ideally be organised and highly motivated with excellent communication skills. Additionally, the successful applicant should assist with related administrative processes including monitoring the Workplace Learning Program budget, maintaining the Workplace Learning Program database and preparing relevant correspondence. A five‑page statement addressing the following selection criteria as outlined in the attached JDF: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workplace learning outcomes and contexts with the ability to induct employers, staff and students on workplace learning procedures. Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, evaluating and reporting on suitable programs for students in acquiring work skills and/or accessing recreational activities. Demonstrated well‑developed keyboarding and computer skills, including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and word processing. Demonstrated sound written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students, employers and parents. Demonstrated initiative and sound organisational skills, including the ability to plan and coordinate activities. It is recommended you have your attachments ready before selecting Apply for Job.
