We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply. About the Role Join our growing team in Darwin on a casual basis. You will be caring for people with trauma background, complex behaviours and disability in a 24/7 residential setting and working long or short shifts in our community access program. We also have positions available for support work in remote communities. Key Responsibilities Provide daily care, supervision and transport for clients Support clients to live independently Develop and support individual care plans, including activities, medication, hygiene and meal schedules Follow established behavioural support plans and management plans Providing support to work towards individual goals Encourage community engagement to support and increase life skill of clients Development of professional relationships with the participants, their families and others in the community Apply person-centered approach and therapeutic crisis intervention system (TCI) Provision of accurate and timely case notes, reporting and incident reports Use of Brevity Care Software Skills & Experience Qualifications / experience in Disability, Individual Support, Personal Care, Social Work or other relevant qualification (or be actively studying) Experience supporting people with complex mental health conditions where behaviours of concern are common Experience in a residential care and/or community access setting Knowledge of trauma and its effects on the development and behaviours of people The ability to contribute positively within a team NDIS knowledge and awareness Completion of NDIS mandatory orientation module A current First Aid and CPR Certificate Availability to work across a 24/7 monthly rotating roster (including sleepover & active nights) Availability to work community access long and short shifts Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, Working with Children Check and/or NDIS Worker Screening, and have their own reliable transport.
