Opie Manufacturing Group are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. We operate a State‑of‑the‑Art m2 manufacturing facility in Emu Heights which is located close to the M4, train station and shops. Task & Responsibilities Design and engineering testing of samples of custom parts or products for manufacturing, including 2D and 3D part modelling. Read and interpret plans and product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products. Interpret project specifications to determine materials requirements, resource allocation and work plans for production. Create standard and custom nesting programs, ensuring optimum use of materials. Set up and operate laser machines and jigging / fixtures, as required. Design and maintain the maintenance schedules and quality control inspection / testing plans of machinery. Perform routine maintenance and repairs of laser machines. Establish engineering procedures and guidelines for installation, modification, and testing of machinery. Project manage delivery and commissioning of new plant and equipment. Inspect manufactured parts or products for conformance to specifications (quality control). Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations. Operation of CRM, ERP, QA & Productivity systems and other proprietary machine software. Undertake interactive workplace communication along with applying Workplace Health Safety & Injury Management. Create engineering plans for new plant and equipment Establish engineering procedures and guidelines for installation, modification, and testing of machinery. Project manage delivery and commissioning of new plant and equipment. Qualification & Experience Relevant tertiary degree in Engineering. Practical experience and knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing. 3D modelling software skills. CAD / CAM programming experience. Must have advanced knowledge of the following systems: MS Outlook, MS Excel, NetSuite ERP, Trumpf FAB / Oseon. Work Type Full time #J-18808-Ljbffr
