What you’ll be doing in this role As a Local Area Coordinator, you will use your people skills, ability to multitask, and agility to assist participants in linking to, navigating, and making informed choices about the NDIS. You will gather information for the development of their NDIS plans and help them understand how their funding works to build capacity and achieve goals. Your work will include: Supporting people with disabilities, their families and carers by providing linkage and referrals to community and mainstream services, and services funded by the NDIA’s Grant programs. Gaining a thorough understanding of how to best support NDIS participants through the various stages of their pathway through hands-on NDIS and Uniting training. Undertaking other duties as requested by the Service Area Leadership Team, consistent with the general nature and responsibilities of the position. Who we’re looking for Someone with great people skills, customer service , excellent communication and time management skills. Background with Disability and understanding of NDIS. Successfully managing KPIs or targets , multiple responsibilities or caseloads efficiently, and meeting service delivery deadlines. Adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, living Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate , respectful , imaginative , and bold . Even Better: Someone who has lived experience and/or experience caring for someone with a disability.
