Advisor, Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport Employment Type: Ongoing Classification / Grade / Band: Clerk Grade 5/6 Remuneration: $99,938.00 - $110,271.00; plus, Superannuation and Leave Loading Location: Sydney CBD, Flexible working options available Applications Close: Wednesday 3 December 2025 at 9:59am Your day as an Advisor The Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport (CITHS) team within the Policy and Budget Group of NSW Treasury plays a crucial role in partnering with the CITHS portfolio to enable economic prosperity and wellbeing for NSW by ensuring fiscal sustainability and rigorous accountability. The team works to advise Government on policies that promote culture, tourism, hospitality and sport across the state including driving vibrant visitor and night-time economies. It acts as the primary coordination point for complex advice across Treasury and Government on these matters. The team provides expert advice on financial management, policy merits and resource allocations. As an Advisor , you will play a key support role to assist in delivering high-quality outcomes that underpin strategic project and policy development, implementation, and evaluation. Your role will be to analyse and support or directly provide advice on policy, regulatory, financial and economic issues facing government agencies delivering these services. This will involve establishing sound relationships with Treasury and agency contacts for the collaborative monitoring of performance and the implementation of change. You will be joining our Policy and Budget Group and will be working within the Transport, Arts, Regions & Planning, Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport Team . Achieve success as an Advisor In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW. The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria: A willingness to develop expertise in public policy, economic and/or financial management Strong ability to communicate policy analysis and advice clearly and effectively (verbally and in writing). Demonstrated experience analysing and interpreting data to identify trends or anomalies in financial and non‑financial data (including experience with Excel). Understanding of public sector financial management and government policy. Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive stakeholder relationships. Tertiary qualifications in a discipline relevant to public policy, finance, economics, law or accounting (or equivalent).
