Posting date: 2/10/2025 We’re searching for an experienced Wholesale Production Nursery team leader for our 3rd generation nursery in Monbulk. We value quality, and pride ourselves on the amazing plants we grow for our loyal customers year after year. You will be working alongside the owner of the business, his father (semi-retired), and a small team (less than 10 staff all year round). Experience in the industry essential Casual Position with opportunity to grow in the role in the coming months/years. Must be available Mon‑Fri 7.45am – 4.45pm Qualities You Will Have High attention to detail, and ability to maintain quality control at all times Pride in self and present well when meeting customers Able to follow instruction, learn quickly and be left to carry out the required job Must be proficient with numbers, count accurately and ensure correct number of plants being prepared for customer orders, potted up etc Have a level‑head, respectful attitude towards other staff, deal with confrontation in a calm manner, and able to communicate with staff effectively and confidently The Role Does Or May Also Include Answering phone to customers at times, must be able to speak clearly and be friendly and helpful, take detailed messages when required Being a Team Leader, able to direct staff and ensure goals are met on time and with quality control being of the highest importance Running a team of 2‑5 throughout various seasons & tasks (potting, customer orders, staking, weed control, maintaining tidiness of the nursery property etc) Being part of the team, and working with the nursery hand staff to ensure orders and requirements are met (this is not an office job) Following instruction and upholding our way of growing and nurturing our plants that ensures quality of the stock & flow of seasonal workload Experience Required Must have previous wholesale production nursery experience Must have manual car license MR Truck license preferred but not essential (and if not yet licensed, must be willing to obtain this license soon) We are looking for someone who wants a future here.
