Selection Criteria SC1 Demonstrated experience in building and grounds maintenance, repair, and gardening. SC2 A strong work ethic, eye for detail and a sense of pride in efficiently completing work to a high standard, ability to work independently and follow instructions. SC3 Sound understanding of OHS standards and maintenance procedures in a school setting. SC4 Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate advice and support effectively with staff, students, and contractors in respect to the work area. Role Hours: 7.6 hours per week (negotiable as a single day or split over the week). Attendance: Required during school vacation periods (hours/days to be negotiated). Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep and general maintenance of the school grounds and buildings. Duties will include, but not be limited to: Sweeping/blowing/pressure washing paved areas of the school grounds as required, keeping grounds neat and tidy. Maintaining all grass areas including mowing, trimming, edging, and spraying. Establishing and maintaining garden beds. Mulching and watering. Mowing of school grounds. Basic repairs to outdoor surfaces, structures, equipment and general maintenance (e.g., basic carpentry, painting, plumbing tasks, etc.). Identifying and addressing (where possible) hazards around the grounds. Ensuring walkways are clear of hazards. Liaising with external contractors as required to effect repairs that cannot be completed in-house. Repair and maintenance of external gates & fences.
