Role Overview We are seeking a passionate and hands‑on Grounds and Maintenance Officer to join our team in a full‑time, ongoing position commencing on the 1st January 2026. The successful candidate will represent the school with professionalism and Christ‑like service while maintaining high standards of safety, presentation, and care across all facilities and grounds. Responsibilities include gardening, landscaping, general maintenance tasks, safety and cleanliness, support for school operations and events, and demonstrating reliability, teamwork, and initiative. Key Responsibilities Professionally represent the school through personal presentation, conduct, and Christ‑like service while maintaining a high, consistent standard of service. Identify potential safety and health hazards and take appropriate steps to minimise associated risks. Carry out gardening and landscaping tasks including pruning, trimming, mowing, edging, planting, spreading mulch and fertilisers, spraying weed killers, and removing debris. Maintain and repair the irrigation and reticulation system, follow gardening schedules and rosters, and complete oval marking as required. Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks, including litter removal, emptying bins, attending to spills and breakages, assisting with event setups, and relocating furniture and equipment. Carry out general repairs and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and machinery to meet safety and WHS standards, while maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment and completing other duties as directed. Selection Criteria Essential Personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and active membership of a Christian Church. Acceptance of the Association’s Statement of Faith, Foundational Statements of Belief, and educational objectives, and living a lifestyle consistent with these statements. Active, cooperative and enthusiastic involvement within the spiritual, academic, sporting, cultural, and social dimensions of College life. Supportive team member of the College’s teaching fraternity. Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain). Desirable Suitable qualifications and experience in grounds maintenance (advantageous but not essential). Reliability, punctuality, and ability to manage time effectively. Adaptability and ability to respond to urgent issues as they arise. Physical fitness and capacity to perform manual tasks, lift, and handle equipment. A commitment to maintaining a safe and pleasant school environment.
