Senior Legal Counsel - 12 month contract Awareness Super is one of Australia’s largest profit‑for‑members superannuation funds. Your New Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in providing strategic legal advice and ensuring compliance across all business operations. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to manage complex legal matters and support business growth. Please note, this role is a 12‑month parental leave cover. Some responsibilities include: Review and negotiate legal documents (contracts, service level agreements, disclosure documents, confidentiality agreements and other general corporate and commercial agreements) to ensure they meet legal requirements, Group objectives and are finalised and executed in a timely manner. Advise Aware Super on governance matters and policy framework. Manage and oversee the Group’s defence of any litigated matters to protect the position of the Group and achieve fair outcomes for members. Collaborate with, and lead, peers across business units and within project teams, contributing ideas, driving business outcomes and managing complexity. How do you exceed our expectations? Minimum 5 years of post‑qualification experience in corporate/commercial law. Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and risk management. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. You are balanced in accepting risk in any decision you face and are curious to understand risk context and choose to speak up as we simplify, learn and grow.
