Cairns Golf Club has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Grounds Person to join our passionate and fun maintenance team. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy your afternoons, with the early start-early finish nature of our job. This role is open to Working Holiday Visa holders with the correct visa, but please note this work does not qualify for a visa extension under the 417-visa scheme. Your tasks may include: Whipper snipping, weeding, plugging, and general course maintenance Bunker raking and maintenance Mowing greens, tees, fairways, and roughs Operating and maintaining other turf machinery and equipment What we’re looking for Attitude is everything. We want someone who’s enthusiastic, reliable, and ready to get stuck in. You don’t need experience, but we value: A commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental standards Good communication skills A willingness to learn and a strong work ethic Punctuality, honesty, and a positive attitude Own reliable transport (early starts from 5am) Bonus points for Experience in golf, turf, gardening, or landscaping Experience operating and maintaining turf equipment Hours & flexibility The total weekly working hours for the role can range from 12 to 38 hours per week, depending on your availability. Full-time hours under a casual contract are available for applicants chasing maximum hours. Early mornings and weekend work are required, with weekend shifts on a rotating roster once trained.
