We are seeking to establish a pool of Teachers - Student Services Year Leader for permanent and fixed term, full‑time and part‑time vacancies that may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character‑limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only. The Role Year Leaders are approachable, resilient and reflective practitioners who develop innovative solutions to drive academic performance, support health and wellbeing, improve attendance and promote positive behaviour. As a key member of our Student Services team, they provide ongoing pastoral support and leadership for an allocated cohort of students. Year Leaders make use of their high level of emotional intelligence to maximise opportunities for student success, building rapport and strong relationships with students, staff, parents/carers, outside agencies and the wider school community. The suitable applicants will ideally be passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people. They should use their strong data literacy and interpersonal skills to identify, develop, implement and evaluate strategies to promote strong student engagement; providing targeted support in line with identified areas of needs. Knowledge and skills in case management, functional behaviour assessments, risk management planning and appropriate pathway planning are highly desirable. The capacity to de‑escalate conflict with distressed students, staff and parents/guardians is also advantageous. The suitable applicants should take an active role in the ongoing development and implementation of a positive learning environment for a specified cohort of students.
