They should demonstrate flexibility, strong organisational capability, and a sound understanding of evidence‑based pedagogy for students with disability. Central to this role is the ability to build positive and respectful relationships that foster student engagement, wellbeing, and a strong sense of belonging. Applicants should hold experience as a Secondary Education Support teacher or be primary‑trained with prior Education Support teaching experience and a willingness to teach across multiple year levels, if required. A strong background in Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), trauma‑informed practice, Special Education Needs Reporting to Parents (SEN RTP), and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is highly desirable. The ability to deliver effective and meaningful differentiation to meet diverse learner needs is highly regarded. This position may involve developing, implementing, reviewing, and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEPs) aligned to functional curriculum goals. Plans may include targeted objectives supporting social‑emotional regulation, life skills, and learner independence, as well as explicit teaching through structured approaches such as Direct Instruction and guided practice. A capability to apply clear, supported, and measurable learning targets with fidelity will be well regarded.
