Hours per week: 37 hours Temporary/Fixed term: 12 months Reablement – Empowering Independence An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Reablement team as a Senior Allocations Officer. Main duties of the job Our Reablement Team supports people to be as independent as possible and includes the provision of information and advice, provision of equipment and adaptations and targeted assistance from a team of support workers. As a Senior Allocations Officer, you will be responsible for allocating reablement support packages and scheduling support visits to customers, ensuring efficient allocation and support oversight across the whole County. You will work closely with Team Leaders across the service to ensure that mandatory training requirements for staff are allocated efficiently. Duties will also include responding to emergency and crisis situations to facilitate the safe delivery of a service to customers that may be at risk as part of a Wiltshire Council Response. We are looking for an individual with a proven ability to prioritise and organise their workload, coupled with previous experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Significant experience of supporting allocations in a care setting alongside experience of using Electronic Call monitoring System (ECMS) will be essential. You should be able to demonstrate an innovative and pro‑active approach to work and a solid understanding of CQC regulations / Key Lines of Enquiry. Job responsibilities Working closely with a team of Occupational Therapists, Team Leaders, Senior Reablement Supportworkers and Reablement Support Workers, the role is responsible for allocating reablement support packages and scheduling support visits to customers. The Senior allocator needs to be experienced in a range of electronic monitoring systems and able to support and monitor the work of the other allocators in the service. The role must be able to identify efficiencies and make recommendations to the allocators to improve effectiveness and performance in rostering, travel and time management. The Senior Allocator will liaise with the CM2000 support team to identify future needs and developments and to ensure the system is providing regular data sets and appropriate reports. The role is also responsible for ensuring adequate resources are available within the service to deliver its support effectively with oversight of all three hubs. The senior allocator will coordinate capacity across the three areas to ensure the service remains safe. The senior allocator will provide oversight and direction to the hub allocators (currently 2) in their activity, through the provision of advice and guidance. This role will also be the first point of contact for other allocators, and for Team Leaders, and Senior Reablement Workers where additional expertise is required to resolve rostering issues. The role will support the other allocators to ensure the most time effective and efficient service is being delivered. Specific duties and responsibilities include: Day to day support and monitoring of allocations on CM2000 in other hub areas to ensure efficient allocation and support oversight across the whole County to identify trends and issues. Analyse and have oversight of the resource across the County, make recommendations for the service provision and best use of staff as a whole system. Work closely with Team Leaders across the service to ensure that mandatory training requirements for staff can be allocated efficiently without impacting the service delivery. Monitor and check information and allocations to ensure high standards and efficiency are maintained. Provide feedback to the Registered Manager on issues of bad practice and gaps in procedures. Using evidence and analysis, report performance and provide recommendation for improvements to the Registered Manager. Support the future development of the service by inputting specialist expertise into project work that may be undertaken by the council. Respond to emergency and crisis situations to facilitate the safe delivery of a service to customers that may be at risk as part of a Wiltshire Council Response. Where client contributions are required liaise with accounts receivable to ensure that these are identified and that Wiltshire Council is receiving payments in a timely manner. Where there is a difficulty with the client contribution liaise with the customer and follow the process to escalate to the Registered Manager for appropriate action. To be aware that decisions made will/may have a material effect on the service and service provision to the customers, for example ensuring that scheduled visits are always covered as this has a direct effect on customer wellbeing. Where there is a lack of resource, managing this and/or escalating this appropriately as this has a direct effect on the CQC rating. Qualifications Educated to A Level standard or ability to demonstrate equivalent skills and ability Level 4 Diploma in social care (or NVQ equivalent) or ability to demonstrate equivalent Knowledge, experience and skills Significant experience of supporting allocations in a care setting Significant experience of using Electronic Call monitoring System (ECMS) to allocate care and support visits Able to demonstrate an innovative and pro‑active approach to work Ability to solve or pre‑empt problems by employing appropriate measures and processes Experience of using information to identify trends and ability to analyse information to provide appropriate solutions Understanding of the needs of the elderly and/or disabled and understanding of the wider objectives of the service Commitment to continued development with a willingness to undertake training e.g. ECMS, Care Certificate and other specialist training Advanced knowledge of CQC regulations / Key Lines of Enquiry Advanced knowledge of safeguarding procedures and practices Proven customer care skills with experience of working with older and/or disabled people Diplomatic and sensitive approach matched with a suitable level of assertiveness Experience of supporting members of a team in a coaching / mentoring capacity Calm under pressure Clear communications both verbal and written Ability to prioritise and organise workload Experience of working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team Experience High level of relevant and practical experience acquired on the job An advanced understanding of relevant procedures and working practices Advanced knowledge of specialist functions relevant to the service area Excellent ICT skills including use of Microsoft applications and specialist systems Good knowledge of other areas of the authority relevant to the service Good verbal and written communication skills Accurate with attention to detail Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and achieve deadlines Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
