Overview I am partnering with an established organisation to appoint a Head of Finance into a broad leadership role within an early education organisation with an integrated property development business. This position offers genuine ownership of the finance function across both operating and development activities and will suit a senior finance professional looking to make a meaningful impact within a values-driven, growth-focused business. Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, the Head of Finance will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of the business. The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on involvement and will appeal to someone who enjoys being close to both the numbers and the commercial realities of a growing organisation. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end finance function across childcare operations and property development activities Own financial reporting, compliance, governance, and control frameworks Deliver timely and accurate month-end and year-end reporting Provide commercial analysis, insights, and financial modelling to support executive decision-making Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and capital planning across operations and development projects Oversee financial aspects of property acquisition, development, including feasibility, capex, and returns Track project performance against budget, manage milestone payments, and report on investment outcomes Partner with operational leaders to analyse business performance and identify margin improvement opportunities Collaborate with project and construction stakeholders to align financial planning with delivery Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team Skills and Experience CA or CPA qualified Experience in senior finance leadership roles Strong technical accounting and compliance expertise Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into insights Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills Exposure to property, development, or asset-heavy environments beneficial Proficient in Xero, Excel, and Power BI Role Highlights Stable and growing organisation Broad Head of Finance role with financial ownership and commercial impact Direct access to senior leadership and decision makers Opportunity to shape and scale the finance function Supportive and collaborative working environment How to Apply If this opportunity aligns with your background and interests, please apply directly or submit your CV for a confidential discussion.
