Business Analyst - Workday FMS Implementation Description 6-Month Contract $850-1,000 a day inclusive Melbourne CBD (Hybrid) About the Organisation Talenza is partnering with a leading financial services organisation embarking on a major uplift of its finance systems landscape. With a focus on modernising processes, strengthening governance, and implementing Workday Financial Management (FMS), the business is investing in digitisation and operational excellence. You’ll join a collaborative transformation environment with strong executive sponsorship and a clear commitment to delivery. About the Role This role sits at the centre of a multi-stream Workday FMS implementation. As the Business Analyst, you will work closely with Finance, Technology, vendors, and Workday specialists to shape requirements, document processes, and support the successful rollout of core financial modules. You’ll also play a key role in designing and supporting activities across Workday Adaptive Planning, ensuring budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling capabilities meet organisational needs. Key Responsibilities Lead requirements gathering across Finance, Treasury, Procurement, and supporting business units. Translate business needs into clear functional specifications for Workday FMS and Workday Adaptive Planning. Map current-state and future-state finance processes, identifying gaps, dependencies, and improvement opportunities. Support configuration discussions, sprint planning, and user story refinement with Workday consultants and technical teams. Drive testing activities including test planning, script development, execution support, and defect management. Partner with Finance SMEs to validate data structures, budgeting assumptions, forecasting models, and reporting requirements. Produce high-quality documentation including process maps, functional requirements, decision logs, and training inputs. Support change, readiness, and cutover planning activities within the 6-month delivery window. Facilitate workshops, interviews, and walkthroughs to ensure stakeholder clarity and alignment. Provide analytical insight and structured delivery support across the program lifecycle. Key Selection Criteria Proven experience as a Business Analyst on Workday Financials / Workday FMS implementations (essential). Demonstrated experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling. Strong understanding of financial processes (GL, AP/AR, Asset Management, Procurement, etc.). Experience in financial services, banking, superannuation, insurance, or other regulated sectors. Skilled in process mapping, requirements elicitation, and documentation (BPMN advantageous). Exposure to large transformation programs with multi-vendor delivery models. Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and workshop facilitation skills. Ability to work in structured, fast-paced delivery environments with competing priorities.
