Data Scientist – Mobility & Geospatial The Data Scientist – Mobility & Geospatial will support the Motor pricing team and company by developing mobility and geospatial pricing strategies using robust, accurate and timely data driven analysis and insight. This technical role supports the pricing of our insurance products through data analysis, validation, and research of innovative data and methods to price and manage insurance risks. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain address and mobility datasets, with a strong focus on data validation and QA. Apply research and use innovative pricing methods and environmental data to enhance risk rating. Analyse, interpret, and extrapolate data from several sources to resolve complex issues. Implement rating changes to the live pricing system, including testing and post-live monitoring, and quantify the expected impact on the portfolio. Support the development of future enhancements in geospatial analysis, techniques, systems, and processes. Prepare and present papers to communicate results, insights, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences. Perform other reasonable and relevant activities as requested to meet operational requirements. Mentor and guide junior team members. Qualifications and Experience Minimum 5 years’ experience in general insurance, preferably with a strong focus on data engineering techniques. Desirable academic backgrounds include data science, actuarial, geospatial, or other analytics backgrounds. Excellent attention to detail. Experience with geospatial software (e.g. QGIS, ArcGIS). Proven analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Positive attitude with enthusiasm to learn and adapt.
