Parking Control Officer Compliance and Parking Services Permanent Full-Time - Parking Officer Level 1 $88,223.50 + Super Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00am – 5:30pm, one Saturday a fortnight, on a 12-week roster. Parking Services is seeking to fill a vacancy within the team, in the role of Parking Control Officer. This position assists in the application of the Road Safety Act and Victorian Road Rules to increase opportunities to obtain suitable parking spaces within the municipality for residents, businesses and the general public and assist with the safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Key Responsibilities include: Enforce the provisions of the Road Safety Act, the relevant regulations pertaining to that Act and the Local Government Act 1989, in line with departmental procedures and practices as advised and which may vary from time to time. Conduct regular area patrols, on foot or using council vehicles, according to established procedures. Monitor and enforce parking restrictions and regulations, issue infringement notices where necessary, and ensure compliance with council by-laws and state legislation. Respond to public inquiries and provide information regarding parking regulations and services. Maintain accurate records of enforcement activities, including issuing tickets, and submit reports as required. Operate and maintain equipment such as ticket machines, handheld devices, and vehicles used for patrols. Collaborate with other teams within the organisation to ensure effective service delivery and problem-solving. Promote community safety and awareness by participating in local events and initiatives aimed at reducing parking violations. Ensure personal safety and the safety of others while performing duties, adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols. This position is subject to satisfactory Police Check and pre-employment medical assessment prior to commencement.
