Teacher Learning and Support - Villawood East Public School NSW Department of Education – Villawood NSW Villawood East Public School is situated in South Western Sydney and has an enrolment of 320 students. Villawood East Public School is situated on Darug land. An appreciation and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture is embedded throughout the school environment and curriculum, showing respect for land and the traditional custodians. Villawood East Public School is a multicultural school with 83% of students from 23 language groups, other than English. The school comprises of 16 classes including three support classes and an on-site preschool. 9% of students are from an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background. Villawood East Public School provides quality education in a supportive, inclusive and nurturing environment where learning is valued and the needs of all students are catered for. Our school values are Safe, Respectful, Learners. We implement a variety of quality programs: PAX good behaviour game, Big Ideas in Number, Talk for Writing, SPELD, Songroom, and Multi‑Sport. A Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy Program are implemented one day a week to support students P‑6. Extra‑curricular opportunities in student leadership, sport and creative arts are provided to enable our students to participate in a range of different experiences. We also have an onsite Community Hub that offers TAFE courses for community members and provides opportunities for families to connect and thrive within our school community and beyond. Our staff work collaboratively with, and value our strong relationships with Karitane, Koorana, and The Smith Family which support our students, teachers and community. Selection Criteria Approval to teach students with learning and support needs primary and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students with additional learning and support needs and their teacher. Demonstrated exemplary interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with all stakeholders to support the meaningful inclusion of all students. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build the capacity of the teaching and non‑teaching teams to effectively plan, monitor and evaluate a range of supports for students. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
