Accounts Payable Officer

Genex Power Pty Ltd is seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team based in Sydney CBD. As Accounts Payable Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient processing of supplier invoices, employee reimbursements, and other outgoing payments. In addition to managing payables, this role will support broader finance operations, including bank reconciliations and accounts receivable (AR) management. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, organised, and capable of managing multiple finance functions in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment. This is a full‑time role offering competitive remuneration and benefits. Key Responsibilities Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, appropriate approvals, and timely data entry. Manage weekly payment runs, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to payment terms. Perform regular reconciliation of the accounts payable ledger with supplier statements and resolve discrepancies. Maintain and update vendor records and payment information. Collaborate with project teams to resolve invoice and payment issues. Reconcile bank statements weekly to ensure accuracy of transactions and identify discrepancies. Monitor and manage accounts receivable, including issuing invoices, tracking incoming payments, and following up on overdue accounts. Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including preparation of accruals and reconciliation schedules. Support compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and relevant tax regulations (e.g. GST, Payroll Tax). Provide documentation and support during audits and financial reviews. Other tasks to support Senior Financial Accountant and Group Financial Controller. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required. 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, with exposure to AR and reconciliations preferred. Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite. Experience using Oracle Netsuite is an advantage. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
