Research Assistant (Child Health Research Centre) Join to apply for the Research Assistant (Child Health Research Centre) role at The University of Queensland Position Summary Part‑time (40%), fixed‑term position through to June 2026 Base salary will be in the range $82,133.75 to $91,295.49 (HEW Level 5) Based at the Child Health Research Centre About This Opportunity We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Research Assistant to join the Neurodevelopmental Clinic at the Child Health Research Centre (CHRC). This is a fantastic opportunity for an early‑career professional looking to advance their academic writing skills, and build experience in research administration and data management within a supportive and impactful clinical research environment. In this role, you will assist with preparing research manuscripts, conducting literature searches, supporting data entry and preliminary analysis, and providing essential administrative support to the Project Coordinator. You will contribute to meaningful work that advances assessment, intervention, and understanding of neurodevelopmental disorders in Queensland. Key Responsibilities Will Include Assist in preparing, editing and formatting research manuscripts for publication. Conduct literature searches and compile reference lists using citation management tools. Support data entry, data cleaning and basic statistical analysis under supervision. Provide administrative support to the Project Coordinator, including scheduling, documentation management and timeline tracking. Assist with ethics applications and research compliance documentation. Maintain accurate research records and ensure confidentiality and data integrity. Use software tools (e.g., SPSS, Excel, NVivo) for data management and analysis. Adhere to UQ’s Code of Conduct, OH&S and safe handling requirements. Foundational knowledge of research methodologies and academic writing conventions. Experience with data entry and basic quantitative or qualitative analysis. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. High‑level written and interpersonal communication skills. Strong attention to detail, accuracy and self‑motivation. Preferably understands critical ethical considerations when undertaking research in disability and First Nations spaces. Preferably has knowledge of Participatory Action Research (PAR).
