Industrial Designers will work with multi-disciplinary product development teams for globally oriented small domestic kitchen appliances throughout all phases of the Product Development Process from concept development through to mass production.The role requires a strong and demonstrated understanding of product development principles and skills as outlined below, coupled with an ability to clearly and professionally communicate and collaborate with stakeholders both within Breville, as well as outside of Breville.Key Industrial Designer responsibilities : Able to rely on career experience to help make informed decisions and recommendations regarding contributing to delivering projects in your remit.Able to consider different point of views, business values and needs to effectively build arguments and negotiate across parties.Able to clearly and professionally communicate and collaborate with members of multi-disciplinary teams and other stakeholders within Breville's matrix organisational structure to successfully contribute to developing and launching projects.Able to clearly and professionally communicate and collaborate with stakeholders outside of Breville (suppliers etc.) to successfully contribute to developing and launching projects.Able to effectively contribute to developing products in terms of proposed schedules.Able to effectively contribute to developing products in terms of proposed cost targets.Able to successfully contribute to project research phases pertaining managing aspects of required activities.Able to empathise with target consumer so as to protect the product / SMOB (Single Moment Of Brilliance). Able to contribute to appropriate product / component detailing during the development and industrialisation phases of product development.Able to develop form sympathetic to Breville's brand language and in line with Breville's Design Direction Philosophy.Able to develop novel solutions and recognise opportunities with strategic value to Breville and work with the IP team to navigate the IP landscape.Qualifications andexperienceMinimum of 10 years'experience, exposed to best practice product development.Conceptual designskills (comfortable with uncertainty, lateral approach, value analysis,intuitive, brain storming). CAD literacy(2D drawing, 3D solid modelling, graphic design software, imagemanipulation). Hand modelmaking (concept models, visual models). Visualisation(hand sketching, 2D drafting, rendering). Demonstratedexperience of appropriate mass production manufacturing techniques andmaterials selection.Key attributesA curious, open-minded and humble attitude.Passion for excellence and collaboration.Commercial awareness and good understanding of marketing discipline.Practical, hands-on approach.
