Obtain a nationally recognised qualification and valuable experience in painting with an apprenticeship at Lake Macquarie City Council Role and Responsibilities Earn while you learn – get paid while you study a Certificate III – Painting and Decorating Trade Gain valuable skills while being mentored by highly skilled professionals Develop practical knowledge in painting and decorating, including surface preparation, patching, and tool maintenance Work alongside experienced tradespeople, gaining a deep understanding of the trade in a team‑based environment Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, representing Lake Macquarie City Council professionally Follow all Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines and responsibilities Qualifications Have a minimum of Year 10 High School Certificate (or finishing Year 10 this year) Are interested in painting and furthering their career Are committed to completing the training course requirements over 4 years Enjoy working in a team Have a good attention to detail and keep their work area clean and tidy Hold a minimum of a provisional driver’s licence Have exceptional customer service skills Candidates who have completed a Cert III Painting qualification or higher may not be eligible to apply.
