Process Designer/3d Draftsperson - Solidworks Metromotion is an engineering consultancy with over 26 years of experience delivering process design, capital projects and engineering solutions to the food and beverage manufacturing sector. Our team works across a wide variety of projects—process systems, piping design, equipment layouts, packaging lines, utilities and full plant upgrades—offering an ideal environment for designers who want to sharpen their technical skills and work on meaningful, real-world applications. We are seeking a full-time Process Designer / 3D Draftsperson with strong SolidWorks capability to join our Mt Waverley team. The Role As a Process Designer, you’ll play a key part in delivering process, mechanical and packaging projects by producing high‑quality 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks. You’ll work closely with engineers, fabricators, and clients to turn concepts into practical, build‑ready solutions. Key Responsibilities Produce 3D CAD designs and detailed drawings using SolidWorks Model equipment including pumps, valve manifolds, pipework, tanks, platforms, and full plant layouts Apply engineering principles and practical knowledge to create functional, safe and efficient designs Work collaboratively with our engineering team to refine system layouts and equipment arrangements Prepare specifications, drawing sets, equipment lists, manuals and BOMs using Metromotion templates Generate supporting documentation such as manuals, SOPs and risk assessments Communicate clearly with engineers, fabricators, installers and clients to support project delivery Qualifications Qualification in Process, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or Drafting (Diploma/Degree/Cert) Proficient SolidWorks user, capable of modelling and producing high‑quality technical drawings Experience in 3D mechanical or process/piping design, equipment layouts or structural design Willingness to be hands‑on with equipment, testing, site visits and practical trials Victorian driver’s licence and reliable transport (office is walking distance from Mt Waverley Station) AutoCAD 2D experience Food or beverage industry experience Previous experience in a consulting or project‑based engineering environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
