Change Manager

Change Manager (Contract) - Hobart Location: Hobart Duration: 6 months (plus extensions) Working rights: must be an Australian permanent resident or Australian Citizen Our Client: Our client is a major government organisation currently delivering a significant upgrade to its digital foundations across the state. As part of a broader ICT uplift initiative, they are executing several high-priority infrastructure projects and transitioning a major service provider. This is a fast-paced and technically complex environment requiring the assistance of a Change Manager. Key responsibilities: Operating in a fast paced, complex IT project-based environment, drive change initiatives across key projects and programs to support a more accessible and connected system for Tasmania. Contribute to building change capability across the Portfolio Team to increase system adoption and usage. Translate change initiatives into practical strategies that ensure service readiness, minimise business disruption and client impact, and support adoption of changes. Conduct Impact Assessment for systems, processes and functions. Develop change management strategies and tactical change plans that align to objectives. Work closely with project teams, Integrated Services Team, Engagement & Design Team and complex stakeholders, ranging from laypersons to highly specialised clinicians and technical personnel to communicate and create business readiness plans to support change. Apply high levels of adaptability, creativity and innovation to support users and ensure they are equipped with the skills, processes and tools to transition smoothly into new ways of operating. Work closely with, and actively listen to, users and stakeholders to identify and manage potential impacts, risks and barriers to change. Develop and maintain strong trusted collaborative relationships with senior leaders, operational teams, and time pressured stakeholders of all types to facilitate problem definition, understand their needs and concerns, identify barriers and solutions, manage resistance, and embed new ways of working. Support the development of communication strategies and materials in partnership with the Engagement & Design Team to facilitate understanding and acceptance of change throughout and services. Required Experience A hands‑on Change Manager with a proven record of successfully delivering change initiatives at scale with demonstrated capacity to identify the impacts of, and to manage change to ensure Business Readiness and Transition is as seamless as possible. Demonstrated extensive experience (at least 5 years full time) with knowledge of complex change management, preferably in a care environment. High level research, analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills that support identifying issues and proposing effective solutions, and the capacity to work with ambiguity, uncertainty and complexity. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and the capacity to work with diverse stakeholders, actively listen, adapt communication for different audiences, facilitate change and work well in a multi‑functional team. Strong self‑management and organisational skills, adaptability, good decision‑making and judgement. Self‑directed with a motivational and enabling approach, adaptable and agile, achieves results, and can hit the ground running and pivot to meet changing requirements. Can contribute to a positive, productive and healthy workplace culture. PROSCI Certification & Lean Change (or equivalent) would be an advantage. #J-18808-Ljbffr
