Senior Consumer Peer Support Worker The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Australia’s leading public healthcare providers. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior Consumer Peer Support Worker to join The Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services. We have two part‑time roles, each 3 days per week, with possible future weekend work. Your New Role Be a part of a Lived Experience team that promotes self‑determination and a trauma‑informed approach to supporting consumers within this service. Use your lived experience of mental health, alcohol and other drug challenges or service use to support others experiencing similar challenges. Collaborate with clinical staff to provide innovative and person‑centred support to individuals in the ED Hub. Provide mentorship and guidance to Level 2 Peer Support Workers within the ED Hub. Support consumers while in the Hub, post‑discharge follow‑up, facilitate recovery‑focused groups, and connect individuals with RMH peer‑led groups and our Safe Haven. Collaborate closely with clinical staff from the ED, Hub and Emergency Mental Health Team, offering a perspective on recovery that differs from traditional clinical approaches. About You At least 2+ years of experience in a similar role. Specialised mental health and AOD experience. Passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to recovery. Effective communicator with mentoring skills. Ability to work across weekends. Willingness to work in other parts of the organisation where Lived Experience expertise is needed.
