Key Account Manager Brisbane, Queensland, Australia | A$65,000.00 - A$85,000.00 We are seeking a driven, proactive Key Account Manager (KAM) to join our team in the Food and Nutrition sector. This role is pivotal in driving aggressive business growth by hunting for new business opportunities, building a solid pipeline of prospective clients, and strengthening relationships with our key accounts. About the Role The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for handling Caldic’s most important customer accounts. The KAM builds and maintains strong relationships with each customer at all levels of the customer organization, acts as the lead point‑of‑contact, anticipates customers’ needs, collaborates with internal teams to meet deadlines, and helps customers succeed. The successful KAM brings new business from existing customers and develops new relationships with potential customers, drawing on company resources to develop and implement strategic solutions, analyze customer information, data and market information, and develop mutually profitable business opportunities. Key Responsibilities New Business Development Strategically identify potential new business opportunities within the Food and Nutrition sector, expand the customer base, and achieve ambitious growth targets. Develop and implement tactical plans to exceed sales quotas by relentlessly pursuing potential clients across assigned territories and verticals. Implement focused initiatives to capture new market share, move quickly on leads, and convert them into loyal customers. Key Account Management & Relationship Building Cultivate strong relationships with existing key accounts, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and identifying additional growth opportunities. Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and demonstrate how our portfolio can support and enhance their business objectives. Ensure customers receive a high level of service. Management & Growth Manage a diverse customer set in the Food and Nutrition sector, focusing on market share growth, cross‑selling and upselling. Create, monitor, and refine a pipeline of new customers while strategically managing existing accounts to maximize value and profitability. Provide high‑quality product forecasts based on customer input and market understanding. Technical Promotion & Support Champion our Principals' and Suppliers portfolio through technical promotion, delivering product insights and recommendations. Provide technical support and guidance, positioning yourself as an industry expert and trusted advisor. Market Representation & Networking Actively represent Caldic and our Principals at industry events, networking opportunities, and trade shows. Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities to refine our approach and maintain a competitive edge. Performance Analysis & Reporting Prepare and present regular reports on account performance, new business wins, and market trends. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on customer satisfaction and seamless project delivery. Skills Bachelor’s degree in business, science, food and nutrition or related qualifications. Proven experience in the food and nutrition industry with a technical background and a minimum of 5 years in Sales or Business Development. Strong commercial acumen with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a “hunter” sales role. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with customers. Skilled negotiator with proven experience in closing deals. Ability to support product promotion, technical inquiries, and customer training effectively. Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to analyze market and customer data to inform strategy. Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed. Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software. Highly focused on customer satisfaction and relationship building. Demonstrates a strong focus on achieving sales targets and driving growth through new customer acquisition. Deep knowledge of the industry and competitive landscape. Skilled in consultative selling and closing techniques. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Demonstrates ethical decision‑making and trustworthiness.
