CADwalk Critical Rooms Pty Ltd – Melbourne VIC Due to growth, CADwalk is seeking an experienced technical project lead to join our team of skilled professionals. As a key member of the Control Room business, you will be part of a multi-discipline group that consults, designs, supplies & installs, trains, and provides after-care for control rooms. Who we are: We provide tech-enhanced solutions for critical infrastructure. We are the only fully integrated turnkey control room specialist in our region and have a reputation for delivering optimal control room outcomes for our clients. We supply to all major industries including Energy, Resources, Infrastructure, Emergency Services, Transport, Defense and Space. Position Overview: As a Melbourne-based KVM & Control Room Specialist, you'll be involved in designing, installing, and supporting advanced KVM-over-IP and AV-over-IP solutions for critical environments across Australia and occasionally internationally. You'll collaborate closely with our tight-knit technical team in Perth as our Melbourne presence continues to rapidly grow. This role will be a hybrid role with site visits and working‑from‑home to start with, until we open our permanent Melbourne office space in coming months. You’ll work on projects from initial requirements through to design, installation, configuration, and after‑care support. With a strong focus on quality and consistency, this role offers the opportunity to work with tier 1 clients and contribute to high‑impact solutions in Control Room environments. Travel is expected to be up to 25% depending on project needs and willingness to travel is mandatory for this position. This is a great opportunity for an experienced IT professional to cross‑skill in critical infrastructure technologies. Extensive tech training will be provided in the KVM and AV products we use. Key Responsibilities: Design, deliver, and support critical room technologies including KVM-over-IP solutions (eg. WeyTec, G&D, VuWall), videowalls, IT and OT networks. Configure and deploy IT-based systems remotely and on‑site. Pre‑sales activities including solution scoping and technical workshop. Diagnose and resolve technical issues with critical room technologies. Coordinate with technical vendors. Prepare technical documentation, diagrams (Visio/CAD), and project records. Participate in on‑call technical support roster. Ensure compliance with our ISO9001‑aligned quality procedures and HSEQ standards. The ideal candidate will have: A solid background in generalist IT, such as from working in a small‑to‑medium sized MSP: eg. servers, desktops, networking, cybersecurity and systems programming experience highly desirable. Minimum 3 years of IT project experience. In particular, experience configuring and troubleshooting network switches and routers (ICMP, Cisco switching/routing, LAN/WAN). Great communication and interpersonal skills. Tertiary qualification in a relevant field desirable (e.g. Networking, IT, Systems Engineering) Experience working with tier 1 enterprise clients and in critical environments desirable. Licenses desirable: Working at Heights, EWP, Driver's License, Registered Cabler. White Card and Police Clearance (can be obtained later if not already held).
