We’re Hiring: Highly Skilled Disability Support Workers (High Behavioural Needs) We are seeking experienced and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team supporting a young participant with complex behavioural needs. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care and committed to shaping a young person’s life in a positive, empowering and goal-focused way. We are recruiting for a 24/7, 2:1 Supported Independent Living (SIL) model, with 8 part‑time roles of 30 hours per week and casual positions available. About the Role In this role, you will work closely with a young participant who requires consistent, structured, and trauma‑informed support. You will be part of a small, specialised team delivering a high standard of care, stability and encouragement within daily routines and community participation. Key Responsibilities Provide person-centred, strengths‑based support tailored to the participant’s individual needs Implement behaviour support strategies, including safe and ethical responses to challenging behaviours Work confidently within Behaviour Support Plans and understand requirements around restrictive practices Promote skill-building, independence and positive experiences Support the participant to work towards personal goals and meaningful outcomes Maintain accurate documentation and professional communication Understand the importance of comprehensive behaviour reporting, ensuring all incidents, patterns and observations are recorded with clarity and detail Contribute to a safe, structured and consistent environment Bring creativity and flexibility to the role, including trying new approaches and thinking outside the box to support progress and engagement Demonstrate a strong commitment to ongoing learning, professional development, and reflective practice—both individually and as part of a team What We’re Looking For Demonstrated experience supporting people with high behavioural needs Strong understanding of behaviour management, trauma‑informed practice and positive behaviour support Knowledge of restrictive practices and the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission requirements A calm, confident approach and excellent problem‑solving skills A commitment to empowering young people and supporting long‑term positive change Curiosity, creativity and the willingness to try new things Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding accurate behaviour documentation A commitment to ongoing team collaboration and reflective practice Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively within a team Experience with PBS and restrictive practices (formal training highly regarded) Supporting people with epilepsy Medication Management training and/or experience including PRN medication Formal training in Disability Support, such as Cert III/IV in Individual Support – Disability Why Join Us?
