Together we can do more. The CSO is expected to provide timely and accurate administrative services for members of the health care team on their designated ward/s, under the direction of the NUM. The CSO works under broad supervision, however, is also required to work independently. Scope exists for exercising initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the functioning and management of the Ward/s remains the responsibility of the NUM, with the support of the CSO. Wollongong Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is the Illawarra Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500.
