What You’ll Be Doing This is an exciting opportunity to support the dietitian and nursing staff in implementing nutrition care plans for infants in the Royal Hospital for Women Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (RHW NICU). The role is a job‑sharing position with the following shifts available: Monday‑Friday: 8:00 am – 2:30 pm Saturday‑Sunday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm Applicants are expected to negotiate their working days, with a preference given to those able to work a minimum of three days per week. The NICU Allied Health Assistant (AHA) is governed by the SCH Nutrition and Dietetic Department but works in partnership with the RHW NICU multi‑disciplinary team to ensure safe and accurate delivery of nutrition for vulnerable and high‑risk infants. Responsibilities include accurate measurement, preparation, and storage of breast milk, fortifiers, and formula, as well as supporting regular audits of growth and nutrition policies. About You Completed a Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistant (Nutrition and Dietetic Assistant) or equivalent undergraduate food/nutrition degree, with willingness to pursue further certification. Experience working with babies/children and their families. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills across all levels.
