What You'll Be Doing The Nutrition and Dietetic Department consists of specialist Dietitians and Allied Health Assistants. The Department works together to advocate for the optimised nutrition for children through evidence based clinical care, education, research and leadership. We specialise in addressing the unique nutritional needs of children from neonates to adolescents, across a range of clinical domains. Our primary aim is to optimise the growth and nutritional status of all children with chronic and complex medical conditions. The purpose of the Allied Health Assistant is to provide support to the dietitians in meeting the nutritional goals of inpatients. This includes preparing oral and enteral feeds in the sterile Formula Room and providing individualised menus to patients and supporting them with their meal selections. This includes patients on therapeutic diets as part of the treatment of their condition. In addition, the Allied Health Assistant supports the delivery of clinical care to inpatients, as directed by the supervising dietitian.
