This position is currently temporary with a view to transition into a permanent role. The Prince of Wales Public and Prince of Wales Private Hospitals rely on data analysis and reporting for quality assurance and benchmarking. The Data Manager provides reports for the cardiac department and individual surgeons for purposes of audit. POWH has an active clinical research program requiring selective database analysis. The successful applicant will be liaising with the surgical team to ensure integrity of the database. Where You’ll be Working Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non‑admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. Selection Criteria A degree in a relevant field of public health data management or a combination of study and work experience that demonstrates a commitment to the understanding of data management in a public health setting. Demonstrated experience in data integrity and analysis including an intermediate understanding of coding in Python or R. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required for clinical service provision and report writing. Ability to analyse and interpret medical records accurately in the capacity of a health information manager. Demonstrated experience in MS Office package, Excel, Access and internet search function. Understanding of the clinical workflow within a surgical environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as to work effectively as part of a team. Preferred experience with Human Research Ethics Committee and Research Governance Office application processes.
