What you will be doing This position is based at the Joint Referral Unit (JRU) - the State-wide unit which triages all serious child abuse reports for NSW. The JRU Senior Health Clinician, alongside Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and NSW Police, contributes to making complex decisions on the need for a Joint Child Protection Response Program (JCPRP) response and/or other local responses for serious child abuse reports referred by the NSW Child Protection Helpline. Supports the JRU Health Manager by representing NSW Health on the JRU Management (Decision) Team. This includes seeking, reviewing, analysing and sharing key information with Police and DCJ to inform the decisions and actions taken by the JRU. Coordinates the JRU Health Clinicians to ensure timeliness and accuracy in the provision & distribution of information to health services across NSW to facilitate the health's assessment and treatment of abused and neglected children and young people. About You We’re looking for someone who: Tertiary qualifications in relevant Allied health profession including post graduate qualifications and/or completion of relevant specialist training and extensive relevant work experience, at least 8 years, in a senior allied health position within a child protection related health setting. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant policy, legislation and health services pathways to response to trauma, sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect of children across NSW. High level skills and expertise in providing therapeutic, trauma informed responses to children and young people who are victims of sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect, including supervision of other health professionals working in child protection, sexual assault or domestic violence services. Demonstrated highly developed analytical skills, including skills in making complex judgements, risk assessment, conflict resolution and well developed skills in relation to the identification, analysis and strategic resolution of operational and policy issues. A history of successful achievement in building and sustaining collaborative relationships and partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders and influencing/managing enhanced outcomes.
