The Opportunity We are on the lookout for an experienced, trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Dandenong branch workshop team as a Leading Hand . This role will see you lead a highly skilled workshop crew performing assembly, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment. Reporting to the Branch Co-ordinator, your responsibilities will also include: Leading a team of Workshop technicians to meet, deliver and exceed service expectations Driving a safety-first culture within the department Liaising with technical support staff and coordinating diagnostics, maintenance and repair work Managing work schedules and daily workshop activities to ensure efficient utilization of equipment and resources Liaise with stakeholders pertaining to machine performance, product, workmanship, and warranty As the ideal candidate, you will have: Hold relevant Australian (or Australian recognised) heavy diesel or mobile plant trade qualifications Earthmoving equipment experience is required Leadership experience in a comparable industry is desirable Safety first mindset - ensure the HCA Safety Culture is embraced, displayed, and driven from within Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build long term relationships The ability to navigate complex technical issues to deliver high quality outcomes in repair and maintenance services with minimal to zero rework Hitachi Benefits – What’s in it for you?
