Maintenance Lead

Mainstream Aquaculture is a global industry leader in barramundi production. Our Queensland business operates multiple open-pond production farms focused on efficient, sustainable and high-quality aquaculture. We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced maintenance lead to join our highly skilled and motivated regional team. This dynamic role will support production teams by ensuring reliable and safe operation of farming equipment at our Innisfail based sites. The Role Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Maintenance Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance activities across two sites in the Innisfail region – located near each other in Martyville and Mourilyan. The position plays an integral role in supporting safe and efficient aquaculture operations. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise mechanical, infrastructure and asset maintenance activities Develop and implement preventative (PM) maintenance programs Meet with and report the weekly the monthly planned maintenance schedule to the Regional Manager Maintain daily, weekly and annual maintenance scheduling using defect management system Maintain reliability of equipment (MTBF) including pumps, aerators, vehicles and farm infrastructure Maintain accurate asset registers, service records and equipment maintenance and cost of the repairs histories and demonstrate key asset risks in a proactive manner Complete risk assessments, toolbox meetings, safety audits and contractor supervision Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and quality standards Support continuous improvement, fault finding and root-cause analysis Develop a network of service providers that will support site PM requirements Contribute to annual maintenance budgets and critical spare parts management Meet KPI’s including weekly and monthly scheduled maintenance completion Targets. Professional Requirements Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance experience Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and communicate effectively Leadership experience in team development and management High attention to detail with a commitment to procedures and documentation Strong personal accountability and ability to work independently under pressure Flexibility to work varied tasks and rostered shifts, including weekends HR driver’s licence (or willingness to obtain) Current forklift licence (or willingness to obtain) Experience in aquaculture, agriculture, industrial or water‑infrastructure environments Ability to operate farm machinery Trade, technical or aquaculture qualifications Why Work With Us?
