Location & Team Airport-based team at Sydney Airport (Mascot). Regular night shifts may be required for the Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) team. Role Overview Reporting to the Team Lead, the Senior Systems Engineer will deliver complex engineering solutions within requirements, schedule and budget. Provide mentoring and leadership to Graduate/Junior Engineers, lead technical teams and manage delivery performance. Liaise directly with clients to develop and refine scopes of work. Responsibilities Lead delivery of electrical engineering, automation and control systems engineering projects. Mentor and manage Graduate/Junior Engineers and technical team performance. Engage with stakeholders to elicit and understand requirements to deliver high‑quality solutions. Maintain and implement Siemens TIA Portal, Ignition, MODBUS TCP/RTU for the Airport Management Systems team and/or Siemens S7 TIA Portal for the BHS team. Manage night‑shift operations when required. Skills & Experience Relevant Electrical Engineering qualification with a minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in the automation industry. Proven knowledge of Siemens software (TIA Portal, Ignition, MODBUS TCP/RTU, and/or S7 TIA Portal). Systems experience within airport, manufacturing or warehousing/logistics sectors that utilise conveyor systems and controls. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders.
