Perm Role for Senior Systems Engineer in Sydney Your new company This well-established Managed Service Provider is headquartered in Western Sydney and delivers tailored IT solutions to a diverse client base across Australia. With a strong reputation for reliability and technical excellence, the company supports a wide range of industries through both remote and onsite services. Your new role As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll be the technical lead for the Sydney office, providing high-level support, mentoring junior engineers, and driving the design and implementation of customer solutions. You'll work across both project and BAU environments, with a focus on cloud infrastructure, systems optimisation, and solution architecture. Key responsibilities include:Scoping and engineering customer solution requirementsManaging cloud and physical infrastructure (Azure, AWS, Hyper-V, VMware)Performing hardware/software upgrades and backup maintenanceMentoring junior helpdesk staffMonitoring and remediating system alerts across AD, RMM, PSA, backups, and security toolsSupporting sales with technical input and quotationsLiaising with vendors and third-party software providersCreating project documentation and managing change processes What you'll need to succeed Proven experience in a Senior Systems Engineer role within an MSP environmentStrong background in either public or private cloud technologies, particularly Azure or AWSHands-on experience with virtualisation platforms including Hyper-V and VMwareDemonstrated ability to lead projects end-to-end, with strong design and implementation experienceExperience scoping solutions, especially with Entra IDA proactive approach to mentoring and supporting junior staffExcellent troubleshooting skills and a customer-first mindsetAbility to manage multiple priorities across project and BAU work (approx. 60/40 split)Willingness to travel locally for onsite tasks when required What you'll get in return The chance to lead and shape the technical direction of the Sydney office Exposure to diverse projects across industries, including high-value contracts A collaborative team culture with national support Career development through hands-on experience and leadership opportunities What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
