About the role KAS Tax & Business Solutions is seeking an Intermediate Tax Accountant to join our team in Varsity Lakes, QLD. This is a full‑time position where you will play a vital role in providing high‑quality tax and business advisory services to our diverse range of clients. What you’ll be doing Assisting in the development and implementation of taxation policies, procedures, and controls in alignment with relevant legislation and organizational goals Preparing and reviewing financial statements to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance with statutory tax requirements Conducting tax‑related investigations and preparing reports on issues such as tax implications of business decisions, mergers, acquisitions, and restructures Analyzing income, expenditure, and operating costs to identify tax liabilities, deductions, and planning opportunities Providing assurance regarding the accuracy and completeness of financial information in compliance with taxation laws and regulations Offering expert taxation advice on business structures, strategic planning, and operational matters to optimize tax outcomes Preparing and lodging tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax legislation Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), other regulatory authorities, financial institutions, and brokers regarding tax matters and funding arrangements Introducing and maintaining tax accounting systems, and advising on the selection and implementation of software tailored to taxation reporting needs Appraising the tax implications, cash flow impacts, and financial risks of capital investment and business development projects What we’re looking for Minimum 1 year’s experience in a similar tax accounting role Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation laws and compliance requirements Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills Proficient in using tax and accounting software such as Xero Practice Manager Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with clients Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field CA or CPA qualification (or working towards) highly desirable What we offer Competitive salary and performance‑based bonuses Ongoing professional development and training opportunities Flexible working arrangements to support work‑life balance Access to our employee wellbeing program and health insurance discounts Opportunities for career progression within our growing firm Employer: Kerrie-Anne Lewis & Associates Pty Ltd atf The KAL Family Trust Location: Varsity Lakes Employment Type: Full‑time Remuneration: $77,000 – $90,000 per annum (plus superannuation) To be considered for this position, please submit your resume and we will contact you if you have been shortlisted.
