Freelance Global Payroll Specialist - APAC 1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants Our client is looking for a Freelance Senior Global Payroll Specialist, APAC to oversee comprehensive payroll operations across multiple countries in collaboration with external service providers. This position will be responsible for leading payroll cycles, gathering and validating input data, ensuring SOX-compliant processing, managing risks and escalations, and delivering year‑end outputs. The role requires close coordination with internal teams and external partners, demanding strong attention to detail, analytical problem‑solving, and effective stakeholder engagement. RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee full‑cycle payroll activities across APAC in partnership with outsourced vendors Collect, verify, and process payroll inputs (e.g., salary adjustments, bonuses, overtime, benefit changes) Ensure timely and accurate payroll execution, reporting, tax submissions, and compliance filings Manage vendor relationships, handle escalations, and monitor service‑level KPIs Evaluate existing processes, recommend improvements, and contribute to automation initiatives Collaborate with Compensation, Benefits, Mobility, Finance, Tax, Legal, and other global functions Maintain payroll calendars and manage communication across stakeholders Respond to ServiceNow requests and employee payroll queries Safeguard confidentiality, uphold data integrity, and ensure compliance with SOX requirements QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 3–5+ years of payroll operations and vendor management experience In‑depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and taxation (mandatory) Broader APAC/EMEA payroll knowledge is advantageous Skilled in Workday, Microsoft Office, and advanced Excel functions (vLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas) Demonstrated accuracy and commitment to data integrity Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Practical experience with payroll files, benefits inputs, and outsourced vendor models Flexibility to operate across multiple time zones PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Highly organized with strong problem‑solving abilities and a process‑oriented mindset Adaptable to evolving business requirements Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across functions Experience working with varied delivery models (in‑house, outsourced, co‑sourced) Familiarity with Workday and IPPEX systems Broad exposure to APAC/EMEA payroll practices Comfortable working in a dynamic, matrixed, and fast‑paced environment DURATION Freelance 6 month contract – possibility of extension. 10.0 FTE / 38 hours a week SALARY Attractive hourly pay rate – ABN set up required LOCATION Candidates to be based fully from home anywhere in Singapore ABOUT THE COMPANY Planet Pharma is an American‑parented Employment Business/Agency that provides global staffing services with its head‑quarters in Chicago and its EMEA regional office located in Central London.
