Mental Illness Fellowship Of Australia (NT) – Darwin NT Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia (NT), (MIFANT), is a leading non‑profit organisation providing services for people living with a mental illness, their carers and families and also for children and young people at risk of developing a mental illness. MIFANT is the NT representative of the nationally recognised organisations Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia and Mental Health Carers Australia and has been providing services in the NT for over 30 years. The Role The Programs Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the successful planning, execution, and management of our programs, ensuring they maintain compliance, align with our organisation's strategic goals and deliver impactful outcomes. Key Responsibilities Program Development and Planning: Create detailed program plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource requirements. Maintain program budgets and ensure responsible fiscal management. Program Execution: Lead cross‑functional teams to execute program activities, ensuring adherence to contractual requirements including timelines and quality standards. Monitor and manage program risks, issues, and changes to proactively address challenges. Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders. Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and implement program evaluation strategies to measure and report on program effectiveness. Use data and feedback to make data‑driven decisions and improvements. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure programs adhere to contractual requirements, relevant industry standards, laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines. Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate them into program management. Requirements for success BA in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience plus at least 2 years in a senior management role. Highly organized with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, managing toward clarity and solutions. Sound understanding of budget management and financial principles. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast‑paced environment. Demonstrated experience in working in support settings with indigenous populations. Ability to travel to Alice Springs and Tennant Creek every 6 weeks. Proven leadership and management skills, including experience in the supervision of staff, team development and managing multidisciplinary teams to achieve program aims and outcomes. Sound understanding of early intervention models of service provision for children, young people and people with a mental illness. Working knowledge of issues faced by people affected by mental illness and their carers. Demonstrated understanding and skills in community development approaches. Experience in effective consultation processes and ability to establish and maintain beneficial agency partnerships, networks and effective working relationships with key stakeholders including funding bodies. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Sound understanding of organisational operations and workplace practices, e.g., Equal Opportunity and WHS.
