We believe children belong with their families whenever it is safe and possible, and we work closely with the Department of Child Safety and the families to address the root causes of challenging behaviours and support positive change. About the Role As a Team Member, you'll play a vital role in supporting Children and Young People living in Residential Out-of-Home Care at our therapeutic, rural properties, where we focus on a technology-reduced model of care. Your main responsibilities will include engaging with and supporting Children and Young People who exhibit challenging behaviours, helping them achieve their social, educational, cultural, and emotional goals. You'll also oversee their daily care. Our mission is to equip Children and Young People with new coping strategies and pro-social behaviours to help them transition to a forever home. Daily tasks may include: Providing hands‑on support in teaching life skills to our Young People, such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, completing homework, personal care, booking and attending appointments, participating in sports, and engaging in schooling Developing support documentation, including Positive Behaviour Support Plans and progress reports Assessing and supporting the developmental progress of our Young People Liaising with and reporting to stakeholders to share information, contribute to planning, and ensure desired outcomes are achieved Creating activity plans and facilitating community engagement for the Young Person Safely supporting behaviours using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques Benefits Competitive salary range of $70,000 - $100,000 per annum + superannuation (based on full‑time potential) Comprehensive induction and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training 24/7 dedicated on‑call support Access to Not‑for‑Profit salary packaging to lower your taxable income Be part of a rapidly growing learning organisation Above‑award remuneration, including penalties and allowances Work vehicle and meals provided during shifts Opportunities for career advancement Ongoing training, development, and support Access to Employee Assistance Program counselling services QLeave portable long service leave contributions Essential Requirements Current Australian Driver's Licence (must be Open or P2) Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent (or actively working toward) Availability for shift work (24‑hour model), including weekdays, weekends, and sleepovers as scheduled Approved Licensed Care Service (LSC) check through the department, or ability to obtainone Current Paid Blue Cardor willingness to obtain one Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them Flexibility to meet the organisation's needs Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet specific timeframes and targets Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation, organisation, and reporting Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite Provide two recent professional references Desirable Attributes Understanding of trauma‑informed practices Previous Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training Completion of Hope & Healing modules Experience working directly with children and families in a support role Current Licensed Care Service (LCS) check through the Department Flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, as part of our commitment to building a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve.
