Situated in the vibrant, multicultural suburb of Hackett, only a short distance north of the Canberra CBD is 3rd Space, an innovative & fully licensed exciting Stonegrill restaurant that is already proving to be a popular addition to the Canberra dining scene. We have an opportunity for a full‑time Junior Sous Chef role to join our team. As a Junior Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Kitchen Manager and General Manager to deliver high‑quality dishes that reflect the 3rd Space standard. You’ll assist in menu development, maintain kitchen organisation and cleanliness, and help lead the back‑of‑house team through efficient and inspiring service. $76,515 per annum + Superannuation (Award Level 5 – Restaurant Industry Award 2020) Supportive and positive workplace culture. Support the Head Chef and Kitchen Manager in daily operations. Monitor portion control, stock levels, and food costs. Ensure food safety, hygiene, and quality assurance are always maintained. Mentor and guide kitchen staff and apprentices. Collaborate with management on menu planning and specials. Work across varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar or senior cook role. Relevant qualification in commercial cookery. Passion for cooking, innovation, and high‑quality presentation. Strong leadership and teamwork skills. Sound understanding of food safety and kitchen management. Organised, proactive, and reliable under pressure. A genuine interest in being part of a growing, community‑minded business.
