HomeRepair is a wholly owned subsidiary of Suncorp Group Ltd (Suncorp), a major general insurer in Australia and New Zealand. Our primary business is to provide residential repair and Make Safe services in Australia for insurance claims made by Suncorp’s home insurance customers. About the role Reporting to the CEO you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing comprehensive strategies, frameworks, and governance plans that ensure HomeRepair is fully prepared to respond effectively to natural disasters. This position is dedicated to driving business readiness and fostering ongoing improvement, enabling the organisation to deliver resilient and proactive disaster response solutions. Responsibilities Review, refine and update HomeRepair’s Disaster Management Plan to maintain responsiveness and adaptability to evolving risks. Conduct risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and strengthen disaster response capabilities. Develop and implement robust disaster management governance structures and frameworks to ensure effective operational readiness and management. Deliver proactive readiness activities to minimise the effects of natural weather disasters on the business. Work with the Senior Leadership Team to support and lead event readiness, event response and ongoing oversight, ensuring adherence to the Disaster Management Plan. Skills & experience Relevant tertiary qualification Experience in building frameworks and supported by strong governance in program management. Experience in management of operational response to large events. Experience within insurance claims or repairs (highly desirable). Highly advanced business acumen with strong knowledge of key business drivers that enables accurate forecasting and business planning.
